Eco-friendly Hospitality

Sandfields Guesthouse is dedicated to making a difference in any way we can to assist in the global effort against climate change.

Our current projects and contributions include:

• Recycling of all plastic, glass, cans and paper refuse
• No detergents / chemicals are used in our washing machines and all water from our washing machines is recycled onto our garden
• All decomposable kitchen and garden waste is used to feed our compost heap
• When building Sandfields Guesthouse, bricks, doors and windows were recycled and additional recycled windows were installed
• Single occupancy bookings are accommodated with a single bed and not a double bed to reduce the laundry load and therefore conserve water
• Reusable shopping bags/boxes used for all guesthouse shopping
• We support local suppliers and small business whenever we can
• Sterilised water in refillable glass bottles has replaced the plastic bottled mineral water, which can be bought at reception
